Teams & Matches

Exact final teams & home grounds will be announced at a later stage closer to the commencement of the season when we know exactly what our final numbers & formal registrations are.
Round 1 for Juniors is currently scheduled to commence on the weekend of Friday 11th / Saturday 12th October, after kids return to school for Term 4.
Please note that St Bernard’s College does not have the facilities to accommodate all teams to play their home games at St Bernard’s on a Friday night. It is probable that some teams may need to play home games at an alternative home ground in the local area, such as Fairbairn Park.
Further information will be provided in due course as the season draws closer.

Junior Program
St Bernard’s Old Collegians Cricket Club offers a full program of junior cricket, starting at Junior Blast for beginners, through to Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16s for boys and girls.
Junior teams play in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association (NMWCA) on synthetic wickets and grounds suitable to the relevant age group.
Under 10s play with a soft cricket ball and full cricket equipment, with hard cricket balls used from Under 12s upwards. Modified rules exist at each age level to encourage participation by all players, changing and progressively moving towards senior cricket rules at Under 16s.
This provides a pathway through to Senior Cricket on turf wickets, with St Bernard’s OCCC playing in the prestigious Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association (VSDCA), the second tier of club cricket in Victoria.
Matches
Most junior Mixed grades play matches on Friday afternoons. Older age groups have the ability to play on Saturday mornings. Girls’ grades play on Wednesday afternoons.
Home matches for our teams are played at St Bernard’s College or at Fairbairn Park, Ascot Vale.
